Welcome to the website of Ismaël Septembre.
I am currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Siegen in the Theoretical Quantum Optics group led by Otfried Gühne.
My diversified background allows me to study fundamental phenomena in quantum and nano-physics, and look for applications in photonic systems. Here is a representative list of my current research focus:
I am currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Siegen in the Theoretical Quantum Optics group led by Otfried Gühne.
My diversified background allows me to study fundamental phenomena in quantum and nano-physics, and look for applications in photonic systems. Here is a representative list of my current research focus:
- Geometry and topology in photonic systems
- Integrated opto-electronics: cutting-edge nanophotonic devices using interacting quantum fluids
- Quantum advantage in quantum samplers, computers and networks
- Multipartite quantum systems and their entanglement properties
I obtained my PhD diploma at Institut Pascal (UCA-CNRS) in Clermont-Ferrand (France) in June 2023 for which I obtained the PhD prize from the Fondation Université Clermont Auvergne. I studied theoretical topological photonics under the supervision of Dmitry Solnyshkov and Guillaume Malpuech. It was followed by a short post-doctoral position at the same place before I moved to the University of Siegen where I have worked since June 2024.
